Static Scoping and Name Resolution for Mobile Processes with Polymorphic Interfaces

چکیده
In this paper we consider a refinement of the concept of mobile processes in a process oriented language. More specifically, we investigate the possibility of allowing resumption of suspended mobile processes with different interfaces. This is a refinement of the approach taken currently in languages like occam-π. The goal of this research is to implement varying resumption interfaces in ProcessJ, a process oriented language being developed at UNLV.

Mobile Process Resumption In Java Without Bytecode Rewriting
In this paper we describe an implementation of mobile processes with polymorphic interfaces in the ProcessJ language. ProcessJ is a process oriented language based on CSP and the π-calculus. In the paper we demonstrate the translation of ProcessJ to Java/JCSP and illustrate how to implement mobile processes with polymorphic interfaces without rewriting bytecode; this requires some clever code g...
متن کاملDecidability of Behavioural Equivalences in Process Calculi with Name Scoping
Local channels and their name scoping rules play a significant role in the study of the expressiveness of process calculi. The paper contributes to the understanding of the expressiveness in the context of CCS by studying the decidability issues of the bisimilarity/similarity checking problems. The strong bisimilarity for a pair of processes in the calculi with only static local channels is sho...

متن کاملMove vs Copy: Towards a Formal Comparison of Ambients and Higher-Order Process Calculi
We describe ongoing work on a formal comparison between Ambient-like and higher-order process calculi. Both formalisms are similar in that they communicate complex objects. Also, in both cases the associated behavioral theory can be hard to define, and employs similar techniques. However, some other characteristics suggest deep differences. Communication in Ambients resembles a “move” operation...
متن کاملDesign and Evaluation of a Method for Partitioning and Offloading Web-based Applications in Mobile Systems with Bandwidth Constraints
Computation offloading is known to be among the effective solutions of running heavy applications on smart mobile devices. However, irregular changes of a mobile data rate have direct impacts on code partitioning when offloading is in progress. It is believed that once a rate-adaptive partitioning performed, the replication of such substantial processes due to bandwidth fluctuation can be avoid...
